Services and Rates

I charge a bench fee to diagnose an amplifier, then quote the repair based on what I find. Standard guitar work has listed prices. If there is unusual damage or previous work, I need to see the instrument before I can give you a useful number.

Amplifiers

Diagnostic bench fee: $85. This covers evaluation and a repair plan. It is credited toward labor if you approve the repair.

Repair labor: $100 per hour, plus parts. Diagnosis may include inspection, safe power-up when appropriate, measurements, signal tracing, and functional checks. I contact you with findings and proposed work before repair proceeds. The diagnostic fee still applies if you decide not to go ahead.

Guitars

Standard Setup - $100‍ ‍

Neck Relief, action, intonation, pickup height, hardware check, and general adjustment.

Electronics repair - Starting at $75

Jacks, pots, switches, pickups, and wiring. More involved work quoted before proceeding.

Pickup installation - Starting at $75

Nut Work - $65 - 150

Adjustment or replacement depending on the instrument and work required.

Fret-end dressing $100

Fret level, crown, and polish - $200-250

Structural repairs, rewiring, modifications, and other involved work- quoted after inspection.

Parts, strings, and applicable tax are additional.

Before work starts

Parts, tubes, strings, shipping, and applicable tax are additional unless the estimate says otherwise. If further inspection changes the scope or cost, I will explain why and ask before going further. Timing depends on the work on the bench and parts availability.
