Amplifier work

Tube amp diagnosis, component repair, and service. I work through the fault before deciding what needs replacement.

Before repair

I diagnose the problem, explain the proposed work and cost, and get your approval before going further.

Local and shipped-in

Drop-off is arranged in advance. I can consider shipped-in amp heads and chassis after we discuss the job and packing.

Our Services

Tube amplifiers

Fault diagnosis, component repair, and general service, especially on older Fender designs. I discuss changes to vintage equipment before making them.

Guitar electronics

Input jacks, controls, switches, pickups, and wiring. I check the fault and discuss the work before replacing parts.

Setup and repair

Setups, nuts, hardware, and fret work. I explain the options before any change that cannot easily be undone.

Shipping a repair

Ask before sending anything. Amp heads and removable chassis are the easiest to consider. I’ll confirm what I can accept and how to pack it.

A workbench with electronic testing and repair tools, including a multimeter, oscilloscope, soldering iron, and an open electronic device with visible circuitry. The workspace is cluttered with wires, notebooks, and parts, situated near a window with closed blinds and beige curtains.

Ask about a repair

Send the make and model, the symptoms, any previous work, and a few useful photos. I’ll tell you whether I can take the job and what to do next.
